History of FEFA

Once upon a time …

 

In 2003, in a sensitive social context, the municipal administration of Anderlecht under the leadership of Mr. Drouart then Deputy Burgomaster of Sports and Prevention and Mr. Faure, prefect of the Royal Athenaeum Leonardo Da Vinci, imagines a project combining football, school monitoring, and psycho-social assistance. This project took shape in the form of a non-profit association in 2005 under the name of FEFA (Football – Studies – Families – Anderlecht) and is primarily intended for young Anderlecht inhabitants or being educated in the municipality who would be in the grip of academic difficulties or psychosocial.

 

2019

Launch of the « FEFA Parents Ambassadors » and « Young FEFA Sports Facilitators » projects – aimed at our young members wishing to learn about sports coaching.

2017

Launch of the Educasport educational workshops for Brussels sports clubs

Recruitment of two new people to the association

First edition of summer courses

Partnership with the sports department of the Free University of Brussels (ULB) to offer medical follow-up and individualized physical preparation sessions to young people aged 15 to 21.

2016

Opening of women’s section with two teams

Expansion of capacity – we have grown from 175 members to more than 260

Recruitment of the first employee of the association, namely Mr. Jean-Philippe Chevalier, in order to strengthen the sports and educational staff

2015

The tenth anniversary of the association

Training of volunteers from primary school on the use of the game in school support

Invitation to present the association to the Belgian Football Union (Union Belge de Football)

Invitation of FEFA as a speaker to a round table organized by APPELS (Agency for Education through Sport) within the framework of the Educasport Forum organized in Lyon on September 25 and 26, 2015.

2014

Participation in the first international congress on physical activity and sport with children (ULiège)

First edition of Easter courses for primaries

2013

Creation of the School of homework for primary students

Beginning of reflection on the Educasport project, set up by the office of the Minister of Sports (M.Madrane). This brought together the FEFA as well as other actors in Brussels in the field of aid to young people and the sports world.

2010

In May, two teams finished at the top of their championship (U15 and U21)

2008

In May, the U21 finished second in their category and one of our two U17 teams finished first and champion of their series – even if the sporting results are not the essence of our work

2006

Organization of the first FEFA tournament « Anderlecht FEFA Cup »

2005

Creation of the FEFA association on October 13 and filing of the articles of association with the registers of the Brussels Commercial Court. Mr. Drouart is the first president of the association.

Official ground inauguration on May 25, dubbed “Terrain Frank Vercauteren”
